Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Laboratory (RAC Lab) is located at ground floor near the HOD office in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Raipur. The laboratory fulfills both undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, with an aim to train students in the broad field of refrigeration and air-conditioning through studies involving refrigeration cycles, psychrometric processes, and relevant system/sub-system design and performance characterization. The laboratory is equipped with the following major equipment.
1. Air conditioning trainer (duct type).
2. Experimental Cold storage unit
3. Multi expansion device and evaporator trainer
4. Domestic refrigerator
5. Ice plant tutor
6. Air water heat pump.
7. Experimental water cooler storage type
8. Thermoelectric refrigeration test rig
9. Experimental bottle cooler
10. Vapour absorption refrigeration trainer
11. Automobile air conditioner
12. Experimental condensing unit
13. Computerised vapour compression refrigeration unit.
