Materials Testing Laboratory is located on the ground floor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Raipur. The Materials Testing Laboratory aims to give graduate students a broad understanding of common materials relevant to mechanical engineering, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of the structure-property-application relationship. These facilities are also used for research and consultancy work. The main machine details are as below:
1. Universal tension testing machine (UTM)
2. Impact testing m/c
3. Cupping testing m/c
4. Compression testing hydraulic with 10 and 100 T capacity.
5. Rockwell hardness testing (Capacity 150Kg)
6. Brinell hardness (capacity 3000Kg)
7. Fatigue testing m/c (capacity 100Kg)
8. Brinell and Vickers hardness testing m/c
9. UTM (capacity 20T)
